CyGames and Arc System Works have announced that Zooey will be joining Granblue Fantasy: Versus on April 28, 2020. Confirmed as the final character of the fighter’s first season pass, a new trailer shows off just how the mother of dragons will work in this wacky anime brawler.
She looks like a solid addition to the game’s roster. A cast of varied characters, there is very little redundancy when it comes to playable fighters. It might be a bit ridiculous that two season passes worth of content was announced before Versus even released, but at least fans will have a ton of stuff to look forward to.
If you’re not keen to drop extra money on Versus just yet, Arc System Works has confirmed that a summer update will add additional chapters to the title’s RPG mode. Episode 41-45 will be releasing this year with 46-50 coming sometime in early 2021. That’s quite a long wait, but free content is free content.
With basically every event canceled for the remainder of 2020, it will be interesting to see if Granblue Fantasy: Versus will continue to grow in popularity. The lack of tournaments for professional players could put a damper on the competitive scene, which might sink any chances Versus has of becoming a mega-hit.
