Made In Chelsea’s James Taylor sold a PS5 Sony gifted to him for £1200, and the bragging that followed hasn’t gone down well with the gaming community.

What makes the severe lack of PS5s to go around even more frustrating is the consoles that immediately popped up on resale sites once the outlets had sold out. The sellers are asking for inflated prices, including high street store CEX which is asking those desperate enough to part with £750 ($1002) for a PS5.

Taylor revealed that Sony had gifted him a PS5 on Instagram in a post where he refers to the console as a “Playingstation 5”. That there should have been a red flag as to how little the gift actually meant to the z-list celebrity. Shortly after, Taylor revealed that he wasn’t too enamored with the PS5 so decided to sell it “for a £1200 profit”. Taylor claims he sold the next-gen console as he didn’t like it and prefers his PS4.

There’s quite a lot wrong with that claim. For starters, the PS5 can do everything a PS4 can do, including run its games. The only difference is the controller as PlayStation has introduced its users to the new DualSense controller. Most to have used it claim it’s the best part of the PS5 experience. If that was the reason Taylor sold his PS5, he should have checked out TheGamer’s guide on how to use the Dualshock 4 to play PS5 games via remote play.
