Apex Legends may not present players with the new map they’ve been looking forward to since the end of season quest, according to Brazilian YouTube personality, Winchester. The Olympus map, initially thought to be set for a season six release, might be delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The upcoming season has already been teased in the World’s Edge map, however.
Winchester, who is sponsored by Electronic Arts, suggested as much in a video on his Playing with Winchester channel this week. He cites a highly-classified source who’s previously appraised him on various other Apex developments, including the Mirage heirloom, yet hopes he’s wrong this time.
The video is in Portuguese but a viewer has provided an English transcript.
It reads:
According to Winchester’s source, getting Olympus out in its current state would likely lead to annoying glitches and even crashing on all playable platforms. He claims to have taken this information with a grain of salt but is also considering the source, who has given him credible information in the past, information that’s led to his becoming as popular as it is.
“According to this person, the Olympus map would be in fact released in Season 6 of Apex and that was the plan of Respawn team. However, since devs are working from home some loose ends in the new map could not be tighten up and, as we speak, the new map would provide a bad experience for players - from random bugs and glitches to various ways of game crashes in all platforms. Obviously, that would be terrible and so the dev team delayed the release of the Olympus map. That’s the info that I had to give you guys.”
The YouTuber pointed out the individual who fed him said information knows what he’s talking about and took a risk by getting him in the know.
“Just like you I have enough reason to doubt it and as I’ve said before, teasers and evidence of the new season happening in Olympus where shown in-game - in Ash’s dialogue and Lifeline talk with Octane,” he added.
“However, quite frankly, I’m torn between rationality and trust since is a person that risked a lot to put me where I am now. Someone that never lacked truthiness with his leaks. I even made a video in the beginning of Season 5 with a lot of info about the next heirloom to be released and it all checked out as you guys saw.”
Winchester is understood to have already seen the next two heirlooms plus the interactive Battle Pass skin and the next four legends set to be introduced to the battle royale. His deal with EA doesn’t prevent him from leaking information. In fact, he claims the publishers encourage it
