A YouTuber tested out the rockets on offer in Call of Duty: Warzone to see how far they can travel. Turns out it’s pretty darn far.

Four months on from its release and Call of Duty: Warzone continues to be one of the video game hits of the pandemic. Its release couldn’t have come at a better time for Infinity Ward as lockdowns hit around the world and people looked for something to do. Millions of those people turned to Warzone and a lot of those people have stuck around.

So much has happened in Warzone that it feels as if we have already seen everything. Whether it be a lone wolf taking down an entire squad single-handedly, or a player pulling off a miracle shot with a sniper from a long way away. What we hadn’t seen was someone test exactly how far Warzone’s rockets can fly.

Until now. YouTuber DefendTheHouse decided to test the range on all of Warzone’s rocket launchers. Handy knowledge for any player who has stared down the sights of one and thought “yeah, I think I can make that shot”. Chances are if the rocket launcher you had at the ready when thinking that was the RPG-7, you would not have been able to make that shot.

As can be seen in the video above, a rocket from an RPG-7 makes it all of 265 meters before it explodes. Not great. The Strela-P Launcher, on the other hand, can fire rockets as far as 600 meters, and at a pretty handy pace. What’s more, if fired up in the air, its rockets can fly as far as 1000m before they detonate. That’s a crazy distance to be picking up kills from.

Even better is the PILA. The PILA’s rockets can travel just as far as the Strela P’s, but don’t require the player wielding the weapon to strategically fire the rocket into the air and hope it hits whatever the player wants it to hit. It does travel far slower than the Strela-P rockets, though. As for whether someone can pick up a rocket launcher kill from 1000 meters away, that remains to be seen.
