Voice actress Julie Bennett, best known for her role as Cindy Bear on the Hannah-Barbera Yogi Bear Show, has passed away. The cause was announced as complications due to the COVID-19 virus (also known as the coronavirus) that has been sweeping the world as of late. Her passing was announced today by her agent and friend Mark Scroggs, a talent agent known for representing many accomplished and comedic personalities. Julie was 88 years old at the time of her passing.
Julie was a regular among the Hannah-Barbera team and got her start on the Rocky and Bulwinkle Show playing in the Fractured Fairytale segments. Her most notable role was playing Cindy Bear, the girlfriend to Yogi Bear. She would reprise her role as Cindy Bear for several spin-off shows continuing into the 90s. Ms. Bennett also had roles in series like Mr. Magoo and the Looney Toons. Ms. Bennet can be heard most recently playing the voice of Aunt May Parker in the 1997 Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
Julie Bennet also made live appearances on The Leave it to Beaver Show, Superman, as herself on The Tonight Show, and the infamous Sid Ceasar Show. Ms. Bennett is survived by her friends Carol, Nick, and Mark Scroggs.
