As of today, the Xbox Series X has officially launched, and members of the gaming community could not be more thrilled. The next-gen technology and games that the Xbox Series X provides have been teased all year, and now consumers will finally be able to get their hands on it. To commemorate the momentous occasion, Xbox has put out a video featuring the head of Xbox himself, Phil Spencer.
Phil Spencer has been an integral part of the Xbox Series X’s development and promotion. As the head of Xbox, it would be unfortunate if he was not present at every step of the console’s development. Now, Xbox has released a video where Spencer reflects on the past year and how much the launch of the next generation of Xbox consoles really means to the company.
Over on Twitter, the video that was released on Xbox’s official Twitter page has Spencer discussing how impactful the year has been in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, though never outright mentioning the virus itself. Spencer notes how much the gaming community has come together since then.
Probably one of the most sentimental moments that occurs during the video is Spencer’s referral to the launch of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as a rare moment of joy that is entirely unique to the world of video gaming. The ability for people from around the world to connect with and bond with each other over the launch of one of the most highly anticipated console generations is certainly an encouraging sentiment to have.
To say that 2020 has been a difficult year for many people around the world would be a massive understatement. Although, despite this, both the gaming industry and community have thrived and with the next generation of Xbox consoles finally here, this is certainly cause for celebration and excitement.
In any case, now that the Series X/S have released, it will be interesting to see how well it’s received. For how much confidence Spencer and the rest of the development team have with this new console, it seems likely that fans will respond well to the new system. With any luck, these two new systems will be received much better than the Xbox One. Only time will tell if these two new Xbox consoles live up to the expectations that many fans have set for them.
The Xbox Series X/S are available now.
