To recap
Switching to digital-only makes sense when Xbox itself is moving more towards an online future, with its Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud services. However, the real reason for the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition to exist is to offer a cheaper alternative, and while you can buy the standard machine for roughly the same we can’t see you choosing this over its drive-donning brother.
