It may be a little too late for America’s Independence Day, but Microsoft has decided to show its patriotism (and its continued desire to make the Xbox One the home of modern military shooters) by revealing two brand new accessories. Whether players wish to sport camouflage on their heads or in their hands, the Xbox One Special Edition Armed Forces Wireless Controller and Stereo Headset makes it happen come October 2014.

It used to be the case that Xbox owners would only see flagship titles warrant special edition accessories, but those times are changing. The Xbox One hasn’t even been on store shelves for a year, and has already seen Titanfall-branded accessories, with rumors of a Sunset Overdrive-branded console circling as well. But where those versions go for a brighter look, camo fans now have a line to call their own.

Microsoft’s Major Nelson made the announcement, with some images and details on the Armed Forces package:

Get ready to own the battlefield with the new Xbox One Special Edition Armed Forces Wireless Controller and Stereo Headset. As the first set of custom accessories for Xbox One, the controller and headset feature a modern camouflage pattern and military look and are available for pre-order starting today in the U.S and Canada. The controller and headset will be on store shelves worldwide beginning in October and are priced at $64.99 (Xbox One Wireless Controller) and $89.99 (Xbox One Stereo Headset) USD ERP.

While the pair won’t release until October, prospective buyers can pre-order both the controller and the headset now. Thankfully, the ‘special edition’ accessories won’t have owners breaking the bank, with the Armed Forces Wireless Controller costing just $5 USD more than the standard version ($64.99 as opposed to $59.99), and the Stereo Headset just $10 more ($89.99 as opposed to $79.99).

Whether that price or the design is enough to make it a hot seller come Holiday season 2014 remains to be seen. But with a new Call of Duty on the way, there is always a market.

Keep an eye out for the Xbox One Special Edition Armed Forces Wireless Controller and Stereo Headset when they go on sale later this year.
