Mike Rose from No More Robots has praised Xbox Game Pass on Twitter for increasing game sales. His series of tweets singing Microsoft’s praises lead him to announce to the world “Game Pass is good, yo.”

While the Xbox Game Pass will be in constant competition with its rival, PSN, Microsoft still managed to entice many players into its “£1 for your first month” deal that was just too good for players to pass on. Described as “Netflix for video games,” the Game Pass provides over 100 quality games for players to indulge in with unlimited access. It’s low cost for the first month subscription ultimately kept players from cancelling as its diverse catalog gave them a reason to stay.

Mike Rose commented on how Game Pass has helped to promote his action-cycling game Descenders. He boasted that the Game Pass brought more coverage to his title than he had ever anticipated. Rose claimed that since signing with Game Pass his game has sold five times more units on a weekly basis than before and has managed to triple sales overall. He continued to share a screenshot of Descenders sitting as the 8th most popular game on Game Pass.

User’s on Twitter were delighted to see the impact Microsoft’s platform had on sales for developers. One account shared the happiness of seeing the devs benefiting from Game Pass as much as the players. Others admitted they only discovered No More Robots’ game because of Game Pass and enjoyed taking advantage of the Microsoft Rewards quest. Some wondered if Rose had just been lucky on the platform and doubted that this boost in sales would work for every developer.

Rose also touched on the mentality of purchasing Game Pass. He spoke on Twitter about how Xbox owners will hear about their friends purchasing it and will automatically want a piece for themselves. Another theory spoke of players who are enjoying a game on Game Pass might provoke them to purchase their own copy after it disappears from the catalog. There were also many Twitter users commenting that they were going to buy the pass after reading Rose’s comments.

Whether it’s for the gamers or the developers, Xbox Game Pass is aiding players by providing them with a new world to explore whilst supporting indie developers, too. Its constant catalog switching keeps its library fresh for players of all genre’s and features a few nostalgic hits along the way. “Game Pass is good, yo.”
