Microsoft is preparing to deliver a new round of Xbox Game Pass releases for the month of July. Today the company revealed the latest games that will be available on the Game Pass subscription service for both Xbox One and PC. Four games in total are being added to Xbox Game Pass this month, three of them running on console and two running on PC. But the good news comes with some bad in July, as Microsoft has also confirmed a large group of games leaving the service – including some very good games.

On Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One, July’s games are headlined by Soulcalibur 6. The newest edition of the classic 3D fighting game franchise was released in 2018 and was well-received. If anything, it’s a nostalgic opportunity to revisit a series players may have been missing. Accompanying Soulcalibur 6 to Xbox One Game Pass is CrossCode, a retro action RPG inspired by the Zelda franchise and Secret of Mana, as well as the first-person online RPG Fallout 76.

Fallout 76 will also be coming to Game Pass on PC, making for a great MMO option for subscribers. Fallout 76 also recently introduced its Wastelanders update, which added interactive NPCs to the game. It’s not quite a standard Fallout game now, but it’s closer than ever. PC Game Pass subscribers will also get Out of the Park Baseball 21, an outstanding management sim game. Having just launched in March, Out of the Park Baseball 21 delivers an updated baseball experience that’s perfect to prepare for the upcoming season.

Both Soulcalibur 6, on Xbox One, and Out of the Park Baseball 21, on PC, will unlock later today, July 1. CrossCode, on Xbox One, and Fallout 76, on both PC and Xbox One, will unlock on July 9. Expect more new games to be announced for the second half of July at a later date.

But perhaps even bigger news than the addition of new Xbox Game Pass titles in July is the list of games that will be removed from the service this month. Leaving Xbox Game Pass on July 15 will be Blazing Chrome (PC and Xbox One), Dead Rising 4 (PC and Xbox One), Metal Gear Solid 5 (PC and Xbox One), Timespinner (PC), Unavowed (PC), and Undertale (PC). Metal Gear Solid 5 and Undertale are especially big losses.

Also notable, Minecraft Dungeons’ first DLC, Jungle Awakens, launches today. However, it’s not available as part of a Game Pass subscription. It’ll have to be purchased separately, which isn’t unprecedented for first-party Microsoft releases on Xbox Game Pass. Game Pass subscribers do get a discount of 10%, though.

More Xbox Game Pass news for both PC and Xbox One should be coming in the next couple of weeks.
