Although God of War launched in early 2018, the PS4 exclusive is still a constant topic of conversation and a frontrunner for game of the year. The new direction for the franchise captured the attention of new and old fans alike thanks to its compelling gameplay mechanics, style, art direction, and story. Months later, some artists are still gushing about the game.

Comic book artist Kris Anka is best known for bringing amazing fashion and abs to every book he touches. The artist has a lengthy and impressive resume, but most recently is well known for his work on X-Men, Runaways, and Star-Lord. The artist recently shared a quick Kratos sketch and expressed his interest in bringing his skills to a new God of War comic if one were to happen.

Here’s a look at the sketch and Anka’s comment…

There have been God of War comics before (including the ones included in the digital deluxe version of the game), but if there’s ever a relaunch of the series, Anka seems like an amazing fit to match the game’s aesthetic and bring a shredded Kratos to the page.

Obviously this project isn’t going to materialize just because of Anka’s fondness for drawing Kratos, but it’s definitely fun to speculate about. If there were going to be another mainstream print version of a God of War comic, it likely would’ve arrived a lot closer to the game’s launch. Perhaps there will be another comic when the sequel arrives and Anka will be offered a chance to provide pencils. Here’s hoping, anyway.

God of War is available now for PS4. There are currently no announced plans for a new God of War comic.
