Every year, WWE 2K releases games and updates wrestler attributes as they see fit. This is so that the wrestlers’ attributes in the game are updated towards how they perform in WWE as of the release of the game. Take, for example, John Cena’s rating in WWE 2K18 is a 93. Then, in 2K19, he plummets from a 93 to an 89 following a lack of appearance in shows and pay-per-views.
These ratings aren’t just mere numbers as well. In the game, leg power, arm power, striking speed, grappling speed, agility, and etc. have number attributes that combine to conclude a wrestler’s rating. So, the higher the rating, the more in-ring adept the playable wrestler is. With that being said, here are 10 improved 2K20 wrestlers from 2K19.
10 Randy Orton (Old: 87 New: 88)
The slithering Viper is one of a handful of superstars who have improved ratings from the past year. Back in 2K19, the apex predator had a respectable rating of 87. In 2K20, his rating went up by one point.
Poised to strike his enemies from out of nowhere, Randy’s RKO unleashes a devastating blow in less than a second. In addition to this little rating increase, the viper’s RKO now has a slightly longer animation, resulting in the move’s delayed connect. This makes him a more balanced opponent.
9 Shinsuke Nakamura (Old: 87 New: 88)
The King of Strong Style meets the same incremental rating increase as The Viper. From a rating of 87 in 2K19, Shinsuke Nakamura got a small upgrade in 2K20 with a new rating of 88. Just like the Apex Predator, this Japanese striker also unleashes devastating blows out of nowhere.
Nakamura’s Kinshasa maneuver, which is a running knee to the face, can be set up whether the opponent is standing or lying down. In-game, Nakamura can even pull it off by running directly to his opponent. This makes Nakamura as unpredictable as Orton with his finisher set-up.
8 Charlotte Flair (Old: 85 New: 87)
The daughter of the Nature Boy and WWE legend Ric Flair has had some impressive pushes from the WWE. From a rating of 85 in 2K19, Charlotte Flair got a nice rating upgrade in 2K20 to 87.
Feuding with The Man Becky Lynch in the past year, along with winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship, gave Flair some more exposure to help her rise as of late. Her in-ring arsenal is not to be questioned either. By bridging herself, Flair’s modified figure-4 leglock – a move made famous by her father – places more pressure on her opponent’s legs.
7 Finn Balor (Old: 85 New: 87)
Prince Devitt is a high-flying technical wrestler with experience competing all over the world. In 2K19, Finn Balor had a rating of 85 despite his blazing in-ring performance. As of 2K20, his rating is a little more justified at 87.
The Irish demon possesses some ruthlessly dangerous finishing maneuvers. The 1916 is a brainbuster that lands Balor’s opponents on their heads, while the Coup de Grace is a top-turnbuckle dive that thrusts his boots downwards into his opponents’ chest cavity. There is also ’the Demon’ Finn Balor rated at 89 in WWE 2K20.
6 Baron Corbin (Old: 84 New: 87)
The Lone Wolf Baron Corbin has a despicable demeanor and a face anyone would punch. This makes him a great heel, and thus, satisfying to see get squashed. Ever since he started wearing his corporate brawling attire, Corbin has been a force to be reckoned with.
In the 2K19 game, back when his head wasn’t clean shaved, Corbin had a rating of 84. In 2K20, he rose to 87, a respectable rating on par with the likes of Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre. Having feuded with almost everyone, this rating jump is well-deserved.
5 Ronda Rousey (Old: 87 New: 90)
From the octagon to the squared circle, Ronda Rousey has made a successful transition from MMA to sports entertainment wrestling. Her first appearance in a WWE 2K game was in 2K19, and she had a rating of 87. A thousand armbars and a championship reign later, her rating was increased to 90.
As a former mixed martial artist, Rousey knows how to set up her armbars from any spot and position. She can also lock in a mean one, sometimes dislocating those of her rivals. At the rating of 90, Rousey and one other female wrestler are the highest rated on the women’s roster.
4 Drew McIntyre (Old: 83 New: 87)
Drew McIntyre soared high as he won the 2020 Royal Rumble to capture the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 36. However, WWE 2K20 released in October 2019, prior to these events.
Despite this, McIntyre’s rating of 83 in 2K19 went up by four points, landing at 87 in 2K20. McIntyre has quite the in-ring arsenal; at nearly two meters tall, the guy delivers powerful running kicks out of nowhere. His finishing maneuver, known as the Claymore, puts enemies out fast. Meanwhile, his Future Shock maneuver, which is a snap butterfly DDT, thursts his opponents’ heads down onto the ground.
3 Seth Rollins (Old: 88 New: 92)
After a grueling feud with the beast Brock Lesnar, Rollins was able to capture the Universal Championship. After which, he had a nice long run with the title, losing it to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt at Crown Jewel 2019. These events have put Rollins in the spotlight, thus hurling his rating in the WWE 2K games further.
From a rating of 88 in 2K19, Rollins made quite the leap and earned a rating of 92 in 2K20. The beast slayer’s new rating places him on par with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and his former tag-team partner, Roman Reigns.
2 Kofi Kingston (Old: 84 New: 90)
As a member of the New Day and an active participant of the tag-team division, it was unexpected that Kofi would feud with Daniel Bryan for a singles’ championship.
After some valiant in-ring performances and efforts, along with some unusual ruthlessness for a babyface, Kofi was able to win the WWE Championship during Wrestlemania 35. Kofi’s undying grit, along with his respectful reign, earned him a whopping six-point leap in rating, the highest leap of the male division in 2K20.
1 Becky Lynch (Old: 83 New: 90)
Becky Lynch has the highest rating jump not just in the women’s division but out of all the superstars in WWE 2K20. The Man has shown a lot of assertiveness as of 2018-2019. For one, she asserted a spot in the Women’s Royal Rumble and won it too.
Afterward, she headlined Wrestlemania 35, the first-ever Wrestlemania to feature a women’s match as the main event. At the PPV, she defeated top-stars Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair to become both SmackDown and Raw Women’s Champion. This gargantuan seven-point jump brought Lynch from to the highest rating in the women’s division alongside Ronda Rousey.
