World of Warcraft: Battle For Azeroth is nearly upon us and the MMO’s community of players is already hard at work preparing for the big expansion. The launch of Battle for Azeroth includes a ton of new features and content, but Allied Races are already available now for players who take the correct steps to unlock them.
Allied Races is a new feature in World of Warcraft that allows players to roll new characters that are a variation of a handful of the existing races. The new options are aesthetically different and have unique racial traits, mounts, and heritage armor sets.
Here is everything WoW players need to do in order to get started with an Allied Race character before the expansion officially launches…
Pre-Order Battle For Azeroth
This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s the step that lots of gamers are skipping and then getting confused when they can’t find the right quest givers. Allied Races are only available to players who own the upcoming expansion.
Complete The Faction Quest Chain
Each Allied Race faction has a unique storyline and set of Legion quests associated with them. In order to unlock any of the races, the player needs to have earned the quest achievement associated with that race:
Nightborne: Completion of Insurrection
Void Elf: Completion of You Are Now Prepared!
Lightforged Completion of You Are Now Prepared!
Highmountain Tauren: Completion of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
Earn Exalted Reputation
The unlock also requires that players have reached Exalted with the race’s corresponding faction. Chances are very high that this task has already been completed for players who were active during Legion, especially after completing the above Faction quest chains.
Nightborne: Exalted with the The Nightfallen
Void Elf: Exalted with Argussian Reach
Lightforged Draenei: Exalted with Army of the Light
Highmountain Tauren: Exalted with Highmountain Tribe
Complete The Recruitment Quest Scenario
The final phase is to head over to Stormwind or Orgrimmar Emissary (near the Valley of Strength) to pick up the appropriate recruitment quest. This will trigger the scenario that unlocks the related Allied Race. For most of the races, this takes somewhere under an hour.
That’s all there is to it! Follow those steps and you should be able to roll a new character and choose the Allied Race that you unlocked.
For the Horde!
World of Warcraft is available now on PC, with the Battle for Azeroth expansion launching August 14.
