Pokémon’s fifth generation takes place in the New York-inspired Unova Region. Unova introduced an incredible 156 new Pokémon to the Pokédex, the highest number of new Pokémon added in any region so far.
With a lineup that is even larger than the original 151, the Unova Region has a great selection of quirky Pokémon to fill in the twelve slots of the Zodiac signs.
12 Aries: Braviary
Aries are known to be competitive and brave. Their competitive nature might make them come off as aggressive, but that’s exactly what allows them to achieve great things and protect the ones they love.
As suggested by its name, Braviary is a brave bird who fights on behalf of its friends and never gives up. For that reason, it has been considered a positive symbol of bravery and heroism.
11 Taurus: Bouffalant
A Taurus has firm beliefs and is not easily swayed by anything. They are extremely headstrong, to the point where they won’t hesitate to butt heads with others.
Bouffalant is the perfect example of a Taurus, with its afro-protected skull as its main source of offense. It uses its strong head with its signature move, Head Charge, to shove enemies out of sight.
10 Gemini: Vanilluxe
The Gemini sign is represented by a pair of twins. Because of the twins’ two different mindsets, Geminis are though to have a larger headspace for openness and opportunities.
Formed by the fusion of two Vanillish, Vanilluxe is a double scoop ice cream cone with two working minds. While its two minds can be scattered at times, it can whip up powerful blizzards when they’re on the same page.
9 Cancer: Audino
Cancers are nurturing souls who thrive on emotions. As emotional beings themselves, they make an effort to be sensitive and considerate toward the feelings of others.
While most regions have a Chansey in each Pokémon Center, the Unova Region has another pink and caring Pokémon named Audino. It can not only sense another Pokémon’s feelings with its ears but also heal them of any hostility.
8 Leo: Bisharp
By nature, Leos have the qualities of a leader who cares about both the well-being and dignity of their people. They tend to prioritize their group over everything else.
The alpha Bisharp of its pack leads its pre-evolution, Pawniard. After commanding the Pawniard to wear out the enemy with great teamwork, Bisharp will take it upon itself to put the enemy out of its misery.
7 Virgo: Gothitelle
Virgos are very thoughtful people when it comes to planning their next set of actions and how that can affect their future. They want to make the best decisions now so that their future can be a bright one.
Gothitelle is all about looking ahead and planning for the future. Its psychic abilities allow it to see the future based on how the stars are aligned. This gives Gothitelle an advantage in making appropriate decisions.
6 Libra: Lilligant
Libras are charming individuals who love to keep the peace wherever they are. If a problem arises, a Libra will step in to ease the tension in the calmest way possible.
Like many Grass-types, Lilligant’s design is based around the pretty flower on its head. The flower itself is not only aesthetically pleasing but also useful as aromatherapy to bring a relaxing vibe wherever it goes.
5 Scorpio: Scrafty
Scorpios are loyal and protective over things they care about most. They will do whatever it takes to protect what is theirs, even if it paints them in a darker light.
The Dark-type Pokémon, Scrafty, is known to be a rowdy troublemaker, but many times, it’s just being overprotective of its closest allies and territory. It would rather seem rude than abandon its crew.
4 Sagittarius: Whimsicott
A Sagittarius comes with a carefree spirit, though that can also get them into trouble at times. They may avoid responsibilities to play around and entertain themselves.
A very adorable and secretly naughty Pokémon is Whimsicott. Thanks to its fluffy and airy body, it can easily sneak into homes while making a mess of cotton everywhere. It enjoys pulling that type of prank and has no regret.
3 Capricorn: Sawk
Capricorns are very disciplined and responsible people who work hard each day to see some sort of improvement in their life. They feel the need to work and grow as much as possible without a second to waste.
Sawk is a Fighting-type who practically dedicates its entire life to training. In order to maximize its training potential, it will isolate itself in the mountains where it can train uninterrupted for as long as it wishes.
2 Aquarius: Emolga
An Aquarius is more than capable of handling things on their own accord. Rather than relying so heavily on others, they prefer to work independently as much as possible.
As an Electric/Flying-type, Emolga has a big advantage over most other Flying-types. It can zap any bird Pokémon that stands in its way while gathering and cooking food all for itself.
1 Pisces: Musharna
Pisces have a dreamy and almost romantic way of seeing the world. This naturally influences their creativity in what they bring to life with their artistic abilities.
Musharna is heavily associated with dreams. With its Dream Mist, it can put other Pokémon to sleep before eating their dreams. The dreams are then made apparent as visuals in the mist.
