There are many fierce and powerful beasts to hunt down in Monster Hunter: World to ensure the safety of the realm and increase the strength of your character. Dragons, Elder Dragons, and Wyverns make up just some of the many creatures you’ll find in this game.
Each one has their own personality that defines how they defend their territory, fight in battle, and grow in strength. For those who might be curious about which monsters they relate to best, there are some monstrous traits that align with a person’s Zodiac traits.
12 Aquarius: Blackveil Vaal Hazak
The Blackveil Vaal Hazak is a powerful and terrifying foe. It’s developed a close symbiotic relationship with toxic spores that it can actually use them to launch noxious discharge at its foes. It’s a twisted form of evolution that has made this already fearsome Elder Dragon even more terrifying.
This is something an Aquarius can relate to, an unemotional brute with significant intelligence and resourcefulness. There’s just something about an Elder Dragon that had the foresight to gain additional powers through a sentient infection that’s both admirable and disgusting.
11 Pisces: Black Diablos
Black Diablos is actually a female version of the Diablos that’s also in heat. Because of this, it’s much more aggressive and prone to attack anything that wanders into its habitat or that’s already been residing there.
The at-times emotional Pisces can probably best relate to this rampaging creature. There are times a Pisces feels like raging at anyone and everyone in their vicinity, much like the Black Diablos does.
10 Aries: Nergigante
Nergigantes are apex predators that go looking for trouble. It’s known to intentionally venture into other Elder dragon’s nests and preys on those that rival it in terms of strength. Where most monsters fight out of hunger or self-preservation, this one looks for a challenge.
Aries can strongly relate to this ambition to display strength and physical prowess. An Elder Dragon spoiling for a fight solely because of the challenge is something that an Aries can understand and appreciate.
9 Taurus: Diablos
Diablos are fierce Wyverns that slumber under the sands of the Wildspire Waste. They’re by and large passive creatures, only venturing out of their momentary hibernation to slaughter anything that makes too much noise or poses a threat.
Taurus can sympathize with this mentality given they’re opposed to change and loath it when others stumble upon their comfortable situation. They’re not the type to go looking for fights, but disrupt their zen-like state and they’ll be a little cranky.
8 Gemini: Vaal Hazak
Vaal Hazak is an Elder Dragon that resides alone in the Rotten Vale. It has found a way to form a symbiotic relationship with the miasma that’s created there to give itself more power. It also has the clever tactic of faking its demise to unleash a brutal attack against any threats.
Geminis will appreciate this creature’s cleverness and resourceful ways. While no one would want to become infused with a toxic vapor, the ingenuity behind this approach is something Gemini’s will be impressed with.
7 Cancer: Jyuratodus
Jyuratuds are large serpentine creatures that nest in the swamps of the Wildspire Waste. Lacking wings or legs to attack prey it relies upon mud to act as both armor and weapon, bogging down opponents while it swims through the murky waters like a Landshark.
Given Cancer individuals like the water and are a bit moody when disturbed they can relate in ways to the Jyuratodus. Their monster counterparts would prefer to slumber in solitude, hidden from the world and protected by mud.
6 Leo: Kulve Taroth
Kulve Taroth is an interesting Elder Dragon in that it uses precious metals of various kinds to protect itself, most notably metal. Ironically this draws more attention and makes it the victim of roaming hunter parties seeking its gold-encrusted horns.
Leos are known for their enjoyment of material things and a glittering gold Elder Dragon would easily be their monstrous counterpart.
5 Virgo: Leshen
Leshens are unique on this list for not resembling a Dragon or Wyvern in any way. These bipedal creatures are the guardians of forests, using their magical prowess and ability to summon Revolures and Jagras to defend both flora and fauna.
Virgos can appreciate a creature that actively seeks to protect the forests and the animals in it given their own love for nature and animals. They’d also enjoy being something unique in a world of Dragons, Wyverns, and serpents.
4 Libra: Kirin
Kirin is an Elder Dragon who looks nothing like a dragon, instead, they bear more than a passing resemblance to an electrically charged unicorn. These graceful creatures are fast and use that speed to avoid attack and quickly overwhelm their opponents with thunderous attacks.
Libras are often known as graceful individuals and as such embody many aspects portrayed by Kirins. The fact that a Kirin is relentless in punishing anything that threatens it also fits in with the personalities of Libras.
3 Scorpio: Teostra
The Teostra is a ferocious Elder Dragon that poses one of the greatest threats players can face in Monster Hunter: World. Enveloped in flames and residing in the bellies of volcanoes and other fire engulfed areas these are ferocious predators that can incinerate anyone who disturbs them.
Scorpios are perhaps the closest fit for these mighty apex predators. Their fiery personalities and vengeful ways towards enemies closely match the behavior of the Teostra.
2 Sagittarius: Yian Garuga
Yian Garugas are Wyverns with black scales and sharp beaks. They have notoriously sharp tempers meaning it doesn’t take much to set one of these off and have a glittering obsidian nightmare swooping in for the kill.
While Sagittarius individuals can be generous and kind, they’re similar to the Yian Garuga in that it doesn’t take much to set them off either. The ability to fly would also be an appealing power as Sagittarians would enjoy the freedom that would provide.
1 Capricorn: Xeno’Jiiva
Xeno’Jiiva is the king of all Elder Dragons, they’re so powerful that they are known to hunt and feed on other Elder Dragons which furthers their own power and abilities. If left to their own devices it’s not hard to imagine them driving other Elder Dragons extinct over time.
Capricorns would relate greatly to Xeno’Jiiva, like this fierce dragon they enjoy positions of leadership and power. It takes a strong individual to conquer and dominate other powerful beings and it’s a challenge Capricorns would eagerly take on as Elder Dragons.
