Finding your favorite region is hard enough, so choosing an ideal Pokémon too can often be impossible! So why not use your MBTI® to find your next best buddy.

Your MBTI® can tell more about you than most other personality tests. After a few questions, an analysis appears that allows the reader to learn more about themselves and help improve the way they live. Unlike most personality tests, this one explores your strengths, weaknesses, loves, hates, and even your relationship with friends and family. This makes it a wonderful way to make those rather tough decisions.

When it comes to finding the perfect Pokémon many fans can feel overwhelmed by the hundreds of different companions to choose from. However, using your personality will help the pairing to work with your playstyle and preferences, as well as allowing the player to enjoy the classic game every step of the way.

16 INTJ: Mewtwo

Kicking off with one of the most powerful Kanto Pokémon in the game. Mewtwo would make a wonderful addition to anyone party due to its insane power, but only an INTJ would know how to truly harness that.

Both are openminded and analytical in their approach to problems but use their jack of all trades skill to accomplish anything they need.

15 INTP: Raichu

As Pikachu’s evolution, many are often rather hesitant to even evolve into Raichu, let along use one! However, these people would most certainly be missing out since Raichu is extremely enthusiastic and imaginative, just like an INTP.

INTP’s are known for being extremely optimistic yet rather private. Due to this optimism being so great they often end up getting pushed down by a problem or inconvenience, so with a Pokémon as excitable and powerful as Raichu, you can both help each other through that inconvenience.

14 ENTJ: Rhydon

This wonderful Pokémon is a favorite among fans because of its power and cute stories. However, just like an ENTJ, the way Rhydon looks can often be perceived as intolerant and cold due to how efficient and strong-willed it is.

Nevertheless, with an ENTJ by its side both can show just how enthusiastic and energetic they really are, as they dominate the battlefield throughout.

13 ENTP: Bulbasaur

It would be wrong to not put the most famous and well-loved starter Pokémon in to help make some great partnerships. However, if it’s great partnerships you’re looking for and you’re an ENTP, look no further than the wonderful Bulbasaur.

This adorable starter embodies everything that ENTP’s stand for, knowledge, kindness, and love. Bulbasaur is renowned for caring for smaller Pokémon and uses its knowledge to look after both Pokémon and its trainer.

12 INFJ: Squirtle

As another famous starter, Squirtle is fun, adorable, and inspiring. INFJ’s are typically rather inspiring, their passion and determination drive their friends to achieve their own goals. However, for someone so passionate and determined, they need their own inspiration to come from somewhere!

This is where Squirtle comes in. Since both are so similar they will end up inspiring each other to achieve greatness within the Kanto region.

11 INFP: Zapdos

Zapdos is one of the 4 legendaries in the Kanto region and is by far the perfect match for an INFP. This is because both are extremely hardworking and selfless yet can be rather reserved at times, often getting overwhelmed easily.

Since Zapdos only appears in the Crown Tundra once every few decades, it can resonate with the INFP’s need to be alone but also teach them that sometimes you have to face conflict or problems head-on.

10 ENFJ: Mew

Mew is one of the cutest and most powerful Pokémon in the franchise. It is also a perfect match for any ENFJ out there purely because of how reliable and selfless they both can be. Mew is seen to be kind in the animes, films, and even the games. However, it can also come across as rather private and sensitive, despite being the ’leader’ of the Pokémon.

Now ENFJ’s are natural leaders who are reliable, kind, and selfless meaning that this pairing is just a match made in heaven.

9 ENFP: Charmander

ENFP’s are curious, observant, and often find it hard to focus because they are constantly watching what is going on. This is exactly the same as the beloved Charmander who is bubbly, warm, and extremely curious.

When working together, both get to build that relationship up from the beginning and both can then learn how similar they actually are.

8 ISTJ: Arcanine

Arcanine is strong-willed and believes in order and planning when it comes to battles. Both ISTJ’s and Arcanine are observant and have an eye for detail and a cunning sense of what to do next.

However, both tend to push the blame onto others when making a mistake and can be seen as extremely stubborn and insensitive because of it. Nevertheless, both use their meticulous planning and observational skills to dominate any battlefield.

7 ISFJ: Flareon

As an Eevee evolution, Flareon is expected to be excitable, energetic, and absolutely adorable. Now whilst the adorable isn’t wrong, Flareon is anything but excitable. Just like ISFJ’s, Flareon is supportive and humble whilst being extremely hard working.

Whilst these traits are wonderful for a person, they’re even better for a trainer and Pokémon combo! This is due to them both constantly pushing to be the best and helping others achieve their goals too, whilst still working hard to succeed in their own battles.

6 ESTJ: Marowak

With a rather tragic backstory, Marowak is an inspiration to any trainer and is a constant reminder that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This is extremely useful to most ESTJ’s who don’t take criticism well and often get hurt easily.

Marowak isn’t just there to help teach though. Both find it hard to relax unless they are out there achieving their goals in an honest and dedicated way. When placed together, Marowak and ESTJ’s become a force to be reckoned with.

5 ESFJ: Dragonair

Dragonair is a perfect match for anyone who falls under the ESFJ personality for multiple reasons. The first being that they both have a specific sense of duty that they follow until the end. Whilst this can make them look stubborn, they are actually extremely warm and kind, often being far too selfless.

That selflessness can often be taken advantage of so having a companion that is just as kind and selfless as you will be ideal.

4 ISTP: Moltres

Another legendary that will dominate any battlefield you put it in. Moltres is a badass looking Pokémon with an energetic, spontaneous, and risky personality to always keep its trainer on their toes.

When put together, Moltres and ISTP’s would work like clockwork and use their spontaneous energy to be unpredictable in battle and succeed throughout the game.

3 ISFP: Abra

One of the main traits that ISFP’s embody is unpredictability, and nothing screams that more than the frustrating Abra. They’re hard to catch because they run away all the time and can often be irritating to use, but not for ISFP’s.

This personality loves using Pokémon that are equally as independent and unpredictable. They hate being in the same place once and both will easily be able to keep up with the other.

2 ESTP: Charizard

Similar to Abra, ESTP’s have one main personality trait that defines them perfectly. This time it’s defiant and the one Pokémon that comes to mind as being defiant is most certainly the wonderful Charizard.

Charizard is renowned for not listening to its trainer and being extremely impatient and defiant whilst still being as bold and rational as a dragon. Working together may be chaotic but who doesn’t love a bit of chaos?

1 ESFP: Pikachu

The wonderful Pikachu is the face of the Pokémon franchise and easily one of the most popular and most used companions ever. Which is just perfect for anyone in the ESFP personality.

This is because both are so bold and observant with such wonderful people skills. However, they can get bored easily and become unfocused so when put together they can help each other keep focused and succeed throughout.
