You’ve got the region, now its time to find that perfect companion to help on your adventure. No better way than to use your own MBTI® personality!

An MBTI® is a short test that helps the reader understand more about themselves and how they work. Unlike a typical personality test, your MBTI® teaches you about your strengths, weaknesses, loves, hates, and relationships with family and friends. All this information helps anyone make some pretty challenging decisions.

Choosing the perfect region is challenging enough so when it comes down to finding that perfect party or the ideal companion it’s super important that you get it right. The player wants to work well with the Pokémon as well as strive to achieve the same goals. This can only be done if the player and the Pokémon are the same personalities, which can be dictated by an MBTI® test!

16 INTJ: Milotic

INTJ’s are extremely open-minded and analytical when it comes to games and life in general. Rather than striving to complete the game or win every battle, this personality typically focuses on catching ’em all and will undoubtedly succeed.

Milotic is extremely similar to this personality and loves approaching battles with an analytical frame of mind, which is a wonderful tactic. Both have the same goals and are undeniably perfect together.

15 INTP: Mudkip

It would be wrong to not add in this adorable little starter. However, this pairing just works. INTP’s are imaginative, enthusiastic, and can sometimes be a little private, preferring to keep their ideas behind closed doors.

However, with an adorable and energetic companion like Mudkip, its trainer will be brought into the spotlight they deserve. Together Mudkip and INTP’s can push their enthusiasm into the world and brighten everyone’s day.

14 ENTJ: Sceptile

As Treecko’s final evolution, ENTJ’s can do what they enjoy and what they do best, build a strong and powerful relationship. This personality loves being efficient and enjoys forming the unbreakable bond you get from a fully evolved starter.

As for Sceptile, it’ll never let its trainer down and will use the same efficient and strong-willed personality to succeed in anything they set their mind too. These two mixed in with that personality is a recipe for success.

13 ENTP: Shelgon

This rather underrated Pokémon would make a wonderful addition to any one party, but it would undeniably work best with an ENTP.

This is because they are both so knowledgeable and quick at coming up with different ideas to win at battles or overcome challenges. Whilst Shelgon isn’t the most powerful in the Pokédex, it would make a wonderful companion for an ENTP and will certainly make your game great.

12 INFJ: Gardevoir

Gardevoir is a wonderful and almost regal-looking Pokémon who fits perfectly in with an INFJ trainer. This is because both are so passionate about their goals and use their determination to inspire everyone around them.

Whilst having that kind of responsibility is challenging, many INFJ’s find themselves uninspired so they need someone of the same personality to help bring that back. That’s where the wonderful Gardevoir comes in.

11 INFP: Torchic

This is easily one of the cutest starter Pokémon and also one of the best choices for an INFP. Whilst Torchic is cute and a starter, it seems to be the best selection for an INFP, purely because they are both so similar.

Both are extremely open-minded and hard-working, succeeding at anything they put their mind too. However, since they are so hardworking they often come across as too selfless which can be taken advantage of. But you always have Torchic to watch your back.

10 ENFJ: Rayquaza

7 ISFJ: Meditite

5 ESFJ: Latios

One of the main traits that come with being an ESFJ is being warm and kind. This personality loves sticking with their sense of duty to others and can often find themselves being far too selfless towards those who abuse it. However, Latios is far from those kinds of people.

It’s known that Latios prefers compassionate trainers and opens its heart to them. This is perfect for ESFJ’s as they love the kind of connection that this pairing will provide. Both will have a deeper understanding of each other than any other pairing.

4 ISTP: Flygon

Flygon is a wonderful Pokémon that often gets forgotten. Most think it’s useless whereas true fans know that Flygon can come in pretty useful! Every Pokémon has its uses and ISTP’s are easily able to draw out that potential.

Being so energetic and spontaneous, this personality is great at drawing optimism out of the most pessimistic people and is guaranteed to bring Flygon into the spotlight. Even though this Pokémon isn’t the best, when working with an ISTP, Flygon is wonderful.

3 ISFP: Salamence

Unlike Flygon, Salamence has to be one of the most popular Hoenn Pokémon. It is well-loved and rightly so since it’s both powerful and a great companion, especially for an ISFP.

This personality is known for being charming and extremely passionate about their craft. Therefore they will be perfect for bringing Salamence out in the best situations and fighting with strength and passion.

2 ESTP: Mawile

This adorable Pokémon has a dark side and is perfect for those ESTP’s who just love a little chaos in their gameplay. This personality is known for being extremely impatient and defiant when it comes to order and rules being forced upon them.

They love causing a little trouble and no one can help you like the deceptive Mawile. Together you can both put on a calm and rational face whilst you wait for the reveal of a deadly and defiant side in battle.

1 ESFP: Treecko

ESFP’s will work perfectly with Treecko since they are both so bold and have such wonderful people skills. Especially when it comes to convincing people to help them.
