Despite some recent shuffling on behalf of the creator studio Bungie, Destiny 2 continues to see a robust player base support the game. Higher-ups at the studio also double-downed on supporting Destiny 2 through 2022 (at least) and heading in a more MMO direction than just remaining a PVP-focused FPS with a campaign mode.
Controversially, the studio also decided to “sunset” or vault certain weapons, locations, campaigns, and other elements at the launch of the Beyond Light expansion. But many fan-favorite characters made the cut including edgelord Eris Morn known primarily for her dark demeanor.
But what Zodiac sign would this make her? Moreover, what signs would other Destiny 2 NPCs correspond to regarding their personalities?
12 Aries - Lord Saladin Forge
Some Diablo fans might see pictures of Saladin and go “That’s not Tyrael”, but it actually kind of is. As Destiny fans will know, Saladin is one of two Iron Lords left and he trained both Zavala and Shaxx. Though he originally appeared in Destiny, he reappears during the monthly Iron Banner challenges.
Those born between March 21 - April 19 are categorized as Aries in the Zodiac. For the most part, Aries are just happy to be here and want everyone to have a good time…or else. Many enjoy the challenges of leadership and physical activities while disliking delays and lacking patience at times.
11 Taurus - Ikora Rey
Voiced wonderfully by Gina Torres, Ikora Rey helped to reform the Warlocks in the Vanguard and, as players are constantly reminded, is the only person to have ever defeated Lord Shaxx in a Crucible challenge. She is tough but passionate.
Associated with the bull, people born between April 20 - May 20 can be stubborn knuckleheads who, by sheer force of will, turn a small rock into a vintage 1987 Bordeaux, but then don’t realize what they’ve created.
Like Ikora, they enjoy a good challenge that involves getting their hands dirty but can be inflexible regarding unforeseen changes.
10 Gemini - Failsafe
Failsafe is a divisive character among Destiny fans in that many feel she was super annoying while others thought she was incredibly well written. Regardless, the busted AI has two modes: helpful and perky then grimly sarcastic and puckish.
Kind of like Two-Face from Batman, those born between May 21 - June 20 are known as Gemini represented by twins. Generally, they are either not aware of this at all or completely aware of this and use it to manipulate people; most likely to be himbos or sociopaths.
9 Cancer - Commander Zavala
People born between June 21 - July 22 might identify with Commander Zavala, the Titan Vanguard who wants nothing more than to keep everyone safe. He is considered the hero of the Battle of Twilight Gap but, apart from fighting bad guys, Zavala is down to earth and go-with-the-flow most of the time.
Cancers like him tend to be less flighty than Aquarians, less sensitive than Pisces, but less outgoing than Leos and less confrontational than Sagittariuses. Basically, their video game slider is on 5 for all traits.
8 Leo - Osiris
Leos, born between July 23 - August 22, are represented by lions for a reason: they like themselves generally.
Osiris is the ultimate representation of this. The former Vanguard Commander, Warlock, and Vex-obsessed Guardian faced exile for said obsession. Though critical of the Cult that cropped up around his achievements, he still considers himself a “Living Legend”.
For other Leos, think Virgo but more arrogant, less aloof, and prone to tantrums like rage tweeting rather than vague posting on social media.
7 Virgo - Cayde-6
Fans of Destiny will instantly recognize this Hunter Vanguard Exo voiced by the just as recognizable Nathan Fillion. Behind the facade of bad jokes and competitive gunplay, Cayde-6 is still scarred by his past. Despite this, he lives for fieldwork and, as fans also know, is sorely missed in the Tower.
While people born between August 23 – September 22 can be starry-eyed and kind, Virgos can also become overly critical and easily disappointed if things don’t go their way. Cayde-6 shares this trait and tends to compensate/deflect with humor much of the time.
6 Libra - Suraya Hawthorne
Represented by scales to indicate mood swings and balance, Libras can offer great advice and approach things in nuanced ways as a result of their ability to see multiple perspectives. Like other people born between September 23 - October 22, Suraya Hawthorne exhibits these traits.
Never without her trusty sniper rifle, Suraya is a non-Guardian guide for the player through the main campaign of Destiny 2. Her conflicted perspective on Guardians and The Last City in tandem with her love of the free world showcase her similarities to other Libras.
5 Scorpio - Mara Sov
In a nutshell, Scorpios can be gossipy know it alls who are aloof and invisible until they’re not; they can generally get into and out of anything. Mara Sov, the Queen of the Awoken a.k.a. “Queen of the Reef” shares many traits with people born between October 23 - November 21.
She is mysterious and enigmatic by nature, but also charismatic and quite smart. Her unwavering commitment to protecting the Awoken’s place in the world often leads to a “ends justify the means” approach. That kind of tunnel-vision in morally grey areas lines right up with the Scorpio M.O.
4 Sagittarius - Lord Shaxx
Sagittariuses, excitable gremlins who think they’re role models but are really just latchkey kids as adults, also tend to stress about fixing the entire world when they’re trying to sleep. Behind Lord Shaxx’s hilarious voice lines and superhero-esque demeanor, he’s kind of a big cinnamon roll.
The Titan Crucible manager can be unflinching in the face of confrontation and he takes his place at the Crucible extremely seriously. As such, he doesn’t allow other factions to interfere with how he runs the arena. He also has very specific opinions on religion and philosophy.
Really, just a true Archer born between November 22 - December 21.
3 Capricorn - Eris Morn
Eris Morn used to be a Bladedancer Hunter before she took a Crota to the face.
The losses she has faced in life have tarnished her view of the world, so she tends toward secrecy, solemnity, and stoicism. But she seems to have a friendship of sorts with Mara Sov which tracks when it comes to shared activities between the two signs.
People born between December 22 - January 19 fall under the Capricorn Zodiac sign. Fans can think of Capricorns as a bit like if Scorpio understood the concept of remorse, decided to put the slider up to 11, and was “3edgy5me” when they get hangry.
2 Aquarius - Amanda Holliday
Now, this is pod, er – sparrow racing.
Fans will recognize the plucky Shipwright who trades in both ships and sparrows. She’s a female human who doesn’t have infinite lives like the Guardians do. She was born a refugee, so she values her personal relationships very much and finds socializing with some structure (like sparrow racing) a better way for her to interact with others.
Aquarians, born between January 20 - February 18, can be idealistic and enthusiastic but tend to be prone to moodiness and wishy-washiness. Like Amanda, they also aren’t afraid to break a few rules to get done what needs doing.
1 Pisces - Petra Venj
Acting Regent-Commander and formerly Mara Sov’s emissary, Petra Venj maintains loyalty to Mara Sov and acts as a leader despite truly despising the burdens it brings. This lines up nicely with what many Pisces people experience.
Often times, Pisces are Sensitive Bois™️ (as a term, not a gender limitation) with lots of feels. They might also be dedicated to a fandom way too seriously and for all the wrong reasons. Like other people born between February 19 - March 20, Petra’s past can come back to haunt her, but she is compassionate and wise all the same.
