There are a number of Covenants to join in Dark Souls and each comes with their own advantages and playstyles. Some players join them to get into PVP combat whereas others seek help getting through the tougher parts of the game.
To help the player identify which Covenant you best align with it can be a good idea to contrast them with the different Zodiac Signs. Understanding which Dark Souls Covenants best match each zodiac personality type is a great way to find one that suits the player’s needs.
12 Aquarius – Warrior of Sunlight
The Warrior of Sunlight is a co-op based Covenant that involves sending members to other worlds to help others. Members of this group will have instant camaraderie with other members as they join together to take down tough bosses, clear hard areas, or simply have fun.
This is a great Covenant for Aquarius types as they’ll enjoy the fun and social environment that comes with these players. It’s not so much about winning as it is having fun and helping someone out.
11 Pisces - Chaos Servant
The Chaos Servant is an interesting Covenant in Dark Souls. Players will be in service to the Fair Lady, a blind witch who’s slowly dying as she tries to keep her bonfire lit as a Fire Keeper. The player serves by feeding her Humanity in exchange for powerful spells like Chaos Storm.
Pisces will find themselves drawn to this Covenant for a few reasons. First and foremost their compassion will compel them to help this poor creature, they will also enjoy the only Covenant that offers solitude, and the allure of exclusive spells will be a strong motivator.
10 Aries – Blade of the Darkmoon
The Blade of the Darkmoon led by Dark Sun Gwyndolin is a tough Covenant to belong to. Players are charged with hunting down those players who have attacked the illusion of Gwynevere in their world or any who have committed sins and received an indictment. This means confronting players familiar with PVP battles who routinely invade other worlds.
Aries will appreciate this challenge. It also takes a certain level of courage to knowingly track someone down to their world without knowing what to expect or knowing how experienced they are.
9 Taurus – Way of White
The Way of White Covenant is devoted to hunting down the undead and providing the living with assistance. Members can join together to clear out areas and defeat bosses. The benefits are really only beneficial in the early part of the game making continued devotion to this Covenant a matter of loyalty and selflessness.
Those born under the Taurus are more likely to appreciate the nature of this Covenant. They will often assist others who are less experienced and will find themselves retreading familiar territory over and over again.
8 Gemini – Path of the Dragon
The Path of the Dragon Covenant is unique in that it will literally transform its more devout members. Higher ranking members are granted the Dragon Head Stone and Dragon Torso Stone which will transform their bodies into humanoid lizard-like creatures capable of breathing fire. Progression requires dueling other members.
Geminis will enjoy this unique concept as it requires a great deal of adaptability to suddenly play the game without armor or helmets. Their curiosity will also compel them to try playing the game as a dragon.
7 Cancer – Gravelord Servant
As a Gravelord Servant, players can curse other player’s worlds causing them to be attacked by Black Phantoms. The only way to stop the assault is by the victim traveling to the player’s world and either defeating them or dying by their hand.
Cancer types will enjoy this unique mechanic as it gives them the power to harass other players into fighting them. It’s an imaginative form of gameplay that seems custom-built for a personality type that doesn’t like strangers.
6 Leo – Warrior of Sunlight
The Warrior of Sunlight culture is part co-op and part meme. Members are often eccentric individuals and will frequently roleplay the famous Solaire of Astora. It’s common to see members in bright-colored armor and sporting sun symbols.
This makes it the ideal Covenant for Leo as it’s a group of eccentric and brightly colored individuals. The intent of this Covenant is fun and self-expression, two traits Leos value highly.
5 Virgo – Forest Hunter
The Forest Hunter Covenant is an interesting one in that it charges its members with defending the Darkroot Garden from invaders. Players who accept this responsibility will be summoned to other worlds to fight players traveling through the Darkroot Wood.
Virgo will appreciate the ability to defend a forest and its animal inhabitants from trespassers. The perk of free upgrade materials via this Covenant is also a hard grind they’ll enjoy.
4 Libra – Princess’s Guard
The Princess’s Guard is a co-op Covenant that aids other members in the Covenant as well as members from Warriors of Sunlight and Way of White. They’re known for healing miracles and lots of faith.
Libra will enjoy the cooperation that comes from assisting members of their own or other factions. It also opens up a lot of opportunities for socializing with others which is always a good thing for a Libra.
3 Scorpio – Path of the Dragon
As a member of the Path of the Dragon players will be rewarded with the ability to turn into humanoid-dragons capable of breathing fire. To earn this ability the player must engage in duels with other members with the victor being rewarded with a Dragon Scale. These Scales are the material used to upgrade the Stones used for transformation.
Scorpios will enjoy embracing this monstrous nature and abandon wearing traditional armor or helmets. They’ll also enjoy the camaraderie that comes from honorably dueling fellow members in an effort to become a dragon.
2 Sagittarius – Darkwraith
The Covenant of Darkwraith is one that focuses on invading other worlds and killing other players for their Humanity. They involve a lot of travel and exploration as they track down players in other worlds and overcome a number of obstacles trying to stop them.
This makes Darkwraith a great covenant for Sagittarius. This is the best Covenant for traveling to other worlds, exploring, and the general freedom to do what they want.
1 Capricorn - Way of White
The Way of White is a Covenant devoted to eradicating the undead and making the worlds safer for humanity. This is a very beginner-friendly Covenant and as such most members will be in the early parts of the game coming together to progress. Knights and Clerics automatically belong to this Covenant.
Capricorn will enjoy this responsibility and helping new players progress through the game. There’s also a layer of tradition and discipline built into the lore of the Covenant they’ll find appealing.
