The Final Fantasy VII Remake, an overhauled re-release of Square Enix’s classic 1997 RPG, is finally here. First announced back in 2015, the remake has been long requested in the Final Fantasy community, and VII is considered one of the landmarks of the long-running series.
Unlike many, purely graphical, remakes, the Final Fantasy VII Remake contains core changes to game-play and story details. New plot elements are introduced, sections of the game are extended, and combat has been entirely reworked. One character who’s plot has seen some changes is Don Corneo, but players will still be able to gather his three secret stashes in the Slums.
The First Two Stashes
The side quest to find Corneo’s Stashes begins with Damon the Reporter during Chapter 14. Damon can be found to the north of Sector 5’s Central District, and speaking with him should be a priority, as many of Don Corneo’s Stashes are near other side quest objectives.
The first Stash can be found at the Collapsed Expressway, a little way to the north of the entrance. This stash contains a pair of Moogle Medals and the Diamond Tiara key item. The second Stash is equally easy to find in Steel Mountain, to the east of the Sector 5 train station. This one contains a Prayer Materia, a Circlet Accessory, and the Ruby Tiara key item, plus a random assortment of healing items and Moogle Medals.
Fighting for the Third
The third and final stash is a little more difficult to track down than the first two, and is located in the Old Trunk Line Control Section of the sewers. This can either be accessed during the main quest or at any time afterward. There are also two mini-bosses along the route to the Stash, so players will have to prove their skills with the new combat mechanics in order to claim it.
The first mini-boss is Mischievous Shoat, and once he’s defeated Leslie will lead the player to a ladder with a switch behind it. Pulling this switch will drain the final Stash. Unfortunately, upon entering the Stash they will be confronted by Sahagin Prince, who will also need to be defeated before the Stash can be claimed. The third and final Stash contains an Enfeeblement Ring, the Emerald Tiara Key Item, and even more of those adorable Moogle Medals.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
