The Yakuza games always deliver on fun and enjoyable content with a healthy dose of humorous and fun-loving substories and minigames. When it comes to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, one of these fun little minigames is finding stray cats and befriending them so you can take them to the Nyan Nyan Cat Cafe in Kamurocho.

There are 19 cats to find in total, all found throughout Kamurocho and Onomichi. The cats are listed under the minigames section of the awards screen found in the main menu, so you can easily keep track of which cats you have already managed to befriend. Once you collect all cats, Kiryu can spend time with them in the cat cafe. We’ve got everything you need to know here, including all cat locations and their favorite foods.

The Basics of Befriending Cats

Where to Find the Cat Cafe

Nyan Nyan Cat Cafe can be found on Senryo Ave. in Kamurocho, just up the stairs and past the internet cafe. Head inside and speak to the owner, who will tell Kiryu that unfortunately he only has one cat and that he is in need of some more for his cafe. Of course, Kiryu agrees to help.

Befriending Cats

From Chapter Two onwards, stray cats will begin to appear in Kamurocho once you have the Troublr app. Cats in Onomichi will begin to appear from Chapter Four onwards.

To get the cats to go to the Cat Cafe, you have to first befriend them, which you can do by feeding them food and filling their friendship gauge. Once their gauge is full, the Nyan Nyan Cat Cafe will send someone to collect the cat. Feeding cats their favorite food will make the gauge fill quicker. You can only feed a cat three times each time you meet it, after which it will run away and you will have to find it again.

Cats do not stay in one specific location but will hang around in one general area. You’ll hear meowing when you are getting close, and when you are close enough, they will be marked on the minimap as a blue dot. If you happen to get into a fight while near a cat, it will run away, so be careful of this.

Where to Buy Cat Food

There are a variety of locations where you can buy cat food, with most convenience stores selling some, but not every store stocks each kind of brand. However, the Nyan Nyan Cat Cafe sells every food type, including the Gold Tuna that every single cat loves, but that particular kind of food costs ¥10,000 per can.

It’s worth stocking up on a range of foods early on so you know that you’ll have whatever you need whenever you run into a stray cat.
