Nintendo just announced that Paper Mario: The Origami King will be dropping on July 17 2020, with a few new surprises- including a completely new battle system.
Paper Mario fans have expressed in the past that they do not like the updated battle stages in the newer games. It is clear that Nintendo heard these complaints because the new ring-based battle system of Paper Mario is entirely different from its predecessors. The new ring-based battle system changes things up instead of returning to the original games.
So, what is the “ring-based” battle system?
Paper Mario: The Origami King will introduce the new ring-based battle system that lets players use their puzzle-solving skills to gather their enemies and go for maximized damage on each. In the trailer of the game, the ring-based battle system shows a “shiny boots” attack method. However, it is not clear if this is an item players can use or if it is an ability.
If you are into puzzles, The Origami King may be for you. It is clear that Nintendo wanted to completely redesign its Paper Mario game, as even outside of battle players will be solving all kinds of puzzles with the addition of a few quirky characters.
It is clear that Nintendo has listened to Paper Mario fans for the new edition of this game. The change in the ring-based battle system will make the battles more entertaining and mind-boggling as players solve various puzzles to battle. Hopefully, the new ring-based battle system will not be boring as fans have previously claimed the older games battle stages were.
