What Does Artificial Immune System (AIS) Mean?
An artificial immune system is a system that utilizes some of the engineering of biological immune systems to put together algorithms or technologies that address systemic goals. This may involve mathematical and computer modeling of immune systems, or the abstraction of some immunology-related principles into algorithms.
Techopedia Explains Artificial Immune System (AIS)
The idea of artificial immune systems started to develop in the 1980s. Researchers found that the complex human immune system can be a good model for developing machine learning and artificial intelligence results that apply a type of “game theory” to how humans’ immune systems work. A 2008 textbook on the subject presents a lot of what has been done in the past, including techniques like clonal selection and dendritic cell algorithms.
