Although new IPs and highly-anticipated sequels stole the show at E3, many fans went nuts over the idea of backward compatibility for Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One. The new console feature will allow Xbox One owners to revisit over 100 classic Xbox 360 games and Xbox Preview Program members have been providing feedback on the new tool since it was announced at E3 earlier this summer. Microsoft promised that the backward compatibility would arrive for everyone else before 2016 and now we have a better idea of exactly when that will be....

Xbox One’s background music feature is currently in development, with Microsoft explaining it’s still months away from being available for console owners. After being asked about the status of Xbox One’s highly anticipated background music feature by a fan on Twitter, the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, Phil Spencer, said it won’t be available any time soon. In fact, his response of it not being out “before summer” means that owners of the system might be waiting quite a while before the Xbox One receives it as a feature....

PUBG’s new desert map is finally coming to Xbox One, only five months later than the PC version. Those tired of fighting it out on a faux-Russian island in the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be pleased to find out that Miramar, the new desert map, is coming to the console. Miramar has been available on PC since last December and has brought a much-needed breath of fresh air into the otherwise repetitive gameplay....

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S is coming to China. The console was approved last December by Chinese regulators, according to Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad, and will soon receive an official release date. Details on that release date are set to come later this week. That’s not the only big announcement Microsoft has for China today. Xbox Game Studios also just announced a strategic partnership with Timi Studios, a developer owned by Chinese media conglomerate Tencent....
