World of Warcraft still retains a passionate player base, even though the groundbreaking MMO isn’t as popular as it was at its peak. However, there’s a subset of adventurers who would rather take a step back into the past than play the game in its current form, and now they have another avenue to do so. Last year, World of Warcraft players flocked to a project called Nostalrius, which aimed to deliver a “vanilla” experience free from many of the changes that have been made since the game released thirteen years ago....

If audiences are expecting Wrath of Man, the fourth collaboration between director Guy Ritchie and star Jason Statham, to have the rollicking, quirky vibe of previous Ritchie/Statham action joints, they should temper expectations right now. While Statham has always been adept with a one-liner, and Ritchie is more than willing to provide him a memorable one, Wrath of Man doesn’t have room for quips and giggles; Statham’s tongue has been removed from his cheek and is seldom used....

Microsoft has officially launched both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, ushering in the next generation of gaming in the process. All over the world, gamers are setting up their new Xbox consoles to try the various Xbox Series X launch titles. Unfortunately, many Xbox Series X users are reporting issues with signing in to their new Xbox consoles, with Xbox Live experiencing various problems....

Sega may have inadvertently confirmed when Microsoft’s next console is going to release. In a statement today, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios announced that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be hitting PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 13, 2020. Careful to not explicitly state anything, Sega writes that the game will, “be available on Xbox Series X console on day 1 of its release.” We could speculate a lot of things from that, but that almost sounds like Microsoft is planning to launch the Series X in mid-November....

Genshin Impact developer Mihoyo is offering players a whopping 600 free Primogems today to celebrate the release of Genshin Impact version 1.1. Perhaps the most immediately prominent aspect of Genshin Impact patch 1.1 is the introduction of the new Tartaglia banner, which includes Childe, Diona, Beidou, and Ningguang. Both Childe and Diona are brand new characters who are Hydro and Cryo, respectively. As a means of celebrating today’s update and offering players a reward for their continued support, Mihoyo has decided to gift everyone a massive 600 Primogems — however, these will expire if you don’t redeem them on time....

A rare and mysterious build of Gears of War 3 has been released by its owner to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its creation. There are a number of mysteries in gaming’s past, one of which is why a PS3 version of Gears of War 3 exists. Other than a foray onto PC, the Gears franchise has been an Xbox exclusive ever since it was first launched. However, last year a former hacker named PixelButts treated the world to a playthrough of an unreleased PS3 version of the game, which you can check out below....

Grammy-nominated DJ Porter Robinson is bringing back his virtual music festival, Secret Sky - only this time, you can watch it in VR. The festival began last year just as the Covid-19 pandemic began putting countries into lockdown. Instead of pushing ahead with an unsafe physical event, Porter Robinson organised the Secret Sky Virtual Music Festival, one night of EDM bliss designed to help people escape their living rooms for a day....

It’s no secret that some Nintendo fans were unhappy with the company’s E3 2015 press conference with many saying that there just weren’t enough major announcements and that the major announcements that they did have underwhelmed. Specifically, fans were disappointed that there was no news on The Legend of Zelda (for Wii U) and that instead, Nintendo announced a co-op 3DS spin-off called Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. The game stars the three titular heroes as they fulfil a prophecy to battle enemies and solve puzzles....

Fans have been getting an early taste of this year’s Call of Duty numerous times before its official release in November. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which is set to release on November 13, recently had its latest major beta period before release. For the most part things went smoothly, but that wasn’t without its fair share of problem childs. Besides a number of cheaters invading the beta just before it ended, there’s also a few key balance issues in the multiplayer experience that may or may not live beyond the beta period....

When ViacomCBS recently announced the slate of programming that would be coming to Paramount+, the rebranded streaming service formerly known as CBS All Access, the media conglomerate touted a rebooted version of the beloved Nickelodeon classic Rugrats. Described as a “reimagining of the classic ‘90s hit,” the new Rugrats will feature the voice cast from the original 1991 animated series, but present the babies in a brand-new, three-dimensional CG style. “Rugrats is one of the most iconic cartoons recognized by fans around the globe, and this original version is one we are taking great care and pride in creating for a brand-new audience,” said Ramsey Naito, President, Nickelodeon Animation....

Apex Legends fans are likely ending the quest line, finishing their Battle Pass, and getting some final moments of Ranked on World’s Edge in as August draws closer. Season 5 is ending with aplomb, and anticipation for season 6 may just be at an all-time high. With the number of lore bits and reveals for the upcoming season, it’s hard not to be excited. With the Apex Legends quests introduced in season 5 and continuing forward, players get to know their characters a little bit more, with the very first focusing on the relationship with Loba and Revenant....

My favorite thing about stealth games is the way they constantly immerse me in the moment. Each stealth kill and escape into the shadows is a pulse-pounding sequence that requires precise timing and exact inputs. Stealth games reward the skill I find especially valuable, like patience, careful observation, and creative problem-solving. My least favorite thing about stealth games is that I always feel like I’m playing them wrong. Every time I finish a stealth game, be it a linear immersive sim with branching paths like Dishonored or a more sandbox-style stealth game like Hitman, I always feel like I’ve somehow missed a major part of the experience....

From its first moments, House of the Dragon looks like a different beast from Game of Thrones, the decade-defining fantasy series from which it sprang. In theory, this should be no surprise considering House of the Dragon is a distant prequel to that former HBO flagship, one which tells the story of the Targaryen dynasty at the height of its power roughly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones....

While New World‘s tumultuous development, numerous delays, and widely debated betas strongly suggested that the game was destined to be divisive, nothing could have quite prepared us for its sudden onslaught of record successes and immediate controversies. While popular Twitch streamer Summit1G has been diving into The Elder Scrolls Online recently, fans were a bit confused when the content creator announced he’d be moving on from the MMO only three weeks after claiming it would be the next big game to dominate his streams. However, it seems Summit1G has finally revealed on Twitter why he decided to drop Elder Scrolls Online in favor of something new, citing the reaction it provoked from him as the central reason....

The Xbox One X, formerly called Project Scorpio, is not for sale yet. However that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from greenlighting a series of pre-order sites. The new Xbox console, unveiled at Microsoft’s E3 press conference yesterday, is set to be released on November 7th. According to fine print on Microsoft’s site, the Xbox One X is not yet approved by the FCC. This is the probable reason for why Microsoft announced both the launch date, and the price (the console is going to be sold for $499), but no pre-ordering....

It’s almost a given that any major FPS released today will have an array of online multiplayer modes – in fact, even series that were once primarily single-player experiences are now expected to offer competitive play. However, that isn’t the case when it comes to Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. From the outset, developer MachineGames knew that it wanted to produce a memorable campaign first and foremost. As a result, The New Colossus will not feature multiplayer modes of any kind....

To the joy of children and adults everywhere, Disney and Pixar announced an animated solo adventure for the ever-popular Buzz Lightyear. Lightyear will star Captain America himself, Chris Evans, as the voice of Buzz Lightyear and is described as a prequel to the first Toy Story but an in-universe narrative. Wonder Boy, a series that started back in 1986 in the arcades, is getting a brand new entry into the series. Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is set to release on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch at the beginning of 2021. Asha in the Monster World is being developed by STUDIOARTDINK and ININ Games. Fans of retro games from the ’80s and of the original Wonder Boy titles will be happy to learn that the series’s creator Ryuichi Nishizawa is returning to help work on this new game....

Some of Twitch’s fastest-growing streams are run by professional wrestlers in the WWE. Twitch offers those wrestlers an opportunity to connect with their fans by playing video games, marketing their characters outside of the squared circle. Yet a new mandate from WWE may mean that wrestlers will have to shut down their Twitch streams permanently. That’s regardless of whether the streams are related to WWE whatsoever or whether they’re even successful....
