Most Grand Theft Auto franchise rumors revolve around the inevitable Grand Theft Auto 6, but other recent rumors suggest Rockstar Games could be revisiting its classic PS2-era titles as well. According to recent rumors, Rockstar plans to release remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas for modern consoles, though nothing official has been announced at the time of this writing. Fans should treat these rumors with a heavy grain of salt and a whole lot of skepticism....

Publisher NIS America has confirmed that Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be heading to PC and Switch on July 6, 2021. In a new, surprisingly grainy trailer, we get to see some gameplay of protagonist Adol’s latest adventure. It doesn’t reveal much we don’t already know from the PS4 version, but it’s great to see that the Switch version runs at a really stable framerate. On the official Ys IX website, it’s noted that Europe will receive the Switch port on July 9, 2021, and Australia will get it on July 16, 2021....

Tracked scores in video games come in different forms. Titles such as Devil May Cry 5 use scores to judge a player’s ability to weave together different attacks, while Tetris uses scores as a measure of a player’s critical thinking skills and ability to plan ahead. I remember when it first dawned on me that I really don’t like to play any real sense of DPS, even when leveling a character. Many zombie killing enthusiasts were disappointed this morning when they found that their copy of Dead Island was less than perfect or even unfinished. Reportedly, Techland had put a developmental build of Dead Island on to Steam for download which was riddled with bugs and developer-only controls. Many websites reviewed the game after a few hours of play, describing it as unplayable with obvious remnants from the Xbox 360 port to PC: jumpy controls, and clipping characters and objects....

The Xbox One had to fight an uphill battle against Sony’s PS4 after the latter offered higher performance at the outset of the console war, and though a lot in the competition has shifted, as new versions like the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S have joined the fray. Even then, Microsoft is still trailing in this race, but a recent release from Microsoft shows Xbox hardware sales on the decline....

The Xbox Series X pre-order page goes live on the official Microsoft site, suggesting that a price announcement could be coming very soon. Microsoft has steadily been announcing more information about the console, having held an Xbox Series X gameplay reveal event earlier this month.
