WWE 2K Battlegrounds, a new arcade-style wrestling game that replaces the simulated realism of the mainline games with over-the-top, cartoony action, received a new trailer yesterday which, while brief, confirmed some new information about the game, such as its release date and roster of playable wrestlers. Initially, we only had a small handful of characters confirmed for WWE 2K Battlegrounds, such as The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, but between this new trailer, some screenshots and info provided by publisher 2K itself, that number has grown exponentially to about 25 characters in total, with a mixture of modern Superstars and classic Legends from WWE’s past....

WWE is moving forward with its plans regarding professional wrestlers playing video games online, it seems. The wrestling promotion and media company announced plans to start the WWE Superstar Gaming Series (SGS) on December 29. The SGS will be a digital event featuring WWE wrestlers playing a variety of video games. It’s unclear if it will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook, as for now it has only confirmed that WWE’s SGS will be available on the WWE Network and social platforms....
