This year, Blizzard Entertainment’s annual games event went digital, dubbed BlizzConline 2021. Gamers were expecting news from some of the company’s flagship franchises like World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Overwatch, and more. As part of the opening ceremony, Blizzard revealed an upcoming way World of Warcraft players could get free pets in the game. As part of BlizzCon, Blizzard usually celebrates with different digital rewards in its games. The company also announces a new pet that World of Warcraft players can get by supporting different charities, called the Charity Pet Program....

World of Warcraft may be over a decade old, but the powerhouse MMO experienced a major renaissance during the last year thanks to the wildly successful Legion expansion. The add-on content increased the level cap and introduced a new region with a very compelling story to keep players busy for months on end. The story is so compelling that some fans even think it warrants its own anime-style series. Some World of Warcraft fans with a talent for editing and an eye for anime aesthetic recently took it upon themselves to cut together some of the in-game footage from Legion and create an anime-opening video inspired by the expansion....

Blizzard is looking to expand their accessibility for disabled players with the launch of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands by including support for the Xbox Adaptive Controller. The game is currently in closed alpha testing and is expected to launch sometime this year, although no specific date has been set. Nikki Crenshaw, Blizzard’s UX researcher, tweeted to Jez Corden of Windows Central that, “We always want to make WoW more widely accessible, if possible, so in Shadowlands, we’re attempting to add some support for keybinds, camera, and turning a character on controllers such as the Xbox Adaptive Controller,” citing one of their community managers....

Accessibility is one of the most important considerations in video game development, and throughout lifespan of the Xbox One, Microsoft has made great strides towards fostering an inclusive gaming ecosystem with a broad range of hardware that looks to continue into the next generation of console. Yakuza: Like A Dragon is the seventh main entry in the series although it doesn’t bear a numbered title. Dubbed “The Popemobile,” this righteous killing machine is a massive pink and white monster that can tear through the hordes of Serious Sam’s enemy lineup....

The Ashen One is now able to tread where few Chosen Undead ventured last year with a modded map addition to Dark Souls 3. The now playable Half-Life Deathmatch map “Crossfire” is the first custom map to be added to the gothic action-RPG’s third title. Flagged on Twitter, the custom map shows The Ashen One sporting their medieval ensemble in the environment of Half-Life; the popular 1998 FPS. The featured environment is the Crossfire multiplayer map, which features two main areas: the building compound with a courtyard, and the Satellite Operations bunker with a helipad....

DC fans have been waiting for Zack Snyder’s Justice League for a long time. After years of campaigning for the film, some lucky fans got to preview the film a week before its intended release on HBO Max, but it was a mistake.
