During Sony’s State of Play event at the end of February, Square Enix revealed a single-player DLC expansion for Final Fantasy 7 Remake; featuring Yuffie, the young Wutai Materia hunter from the original game. The DLC, part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade, will have Yuffie as the main playable character as she embarks on her own mini-adventure that takes place during the events of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Based on revealed footage, most fans are drawing the conclusion that the episode takes place while Cloud is with Aerith in the Sector 5 slums....

Sony finally took the liberty of addressing the elephant in the room during this week’s grand PlayStation 4 unveiling, and (as is usually the case) it was met with equal amounts of excitement and scrutiny. Now that we’ve had some time to digest the massive amount of information pertaining to Sony’s newly announced platform, a few members of the Game Rant staff have decided to chime in on some of the things they are looking forward to with the PS4....

In a year that saw Final Fantasy 14 steal so much momentum (and so many players) from World of Warcraft, there was a slight amount of trepidation surrounding the release of the MMO’s latest expansion, Endwalker. While many FF 14 fans certainly trust the game’s developers at this point, we’ve seen too many recent game releases ruin too much goodwill to not at least be aware of the possibility that Endwalker could derail this RPG’s incredible year and remarkable comeback....

When the pandemic hit and gyms were forced to close, many looked for alternatives to working out at home. Ring Fit Adventure for Switch filled that void, but one Grandmother is still getting her work out on in an old classic, Wii Fit. She’s so dedicated, in fact, that she just hit 4,784 total days in-game. Quite an accomplishment. What makes this story even more interesting is that the Grandmother who will earn the title of Wii Fit Queen has been doing this for the past ten years, according to Nintendo Life....

Baldur’s Gate III was recently announced during the first Google Stadia Connect event. A trailer showing the city of Baldur’s Gate living beneath the shadow of a monstrous squid as the citizens were transformed into mind flayers was shown, which was certainly intriguing, but offered little information as to the plot of the game. The last canonical Baldur’s Gate game was released in 2001, and the Forgotten Realms setting has changed a lot since then....

Xbox executive Albert Penello takes to a podcast to assuage concerns that Microsoft putting Xbox One exclusives on PC will somehow devalue the console. When it was announced back in February that Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break was also coming to PC, the move was not met with universal applause from Xbox fans. Some were worried that the move would devalue the Xbox One and might even be the beginning of the end of console exclusives altogether....

As has come to be expected from Microsoft’s increasingly player-friendly model, Xbox Game Pass continues to be one of the absolute best deals currently available in the world of gaming. From Resident Evil 7 to Doom Eternal, the service has added some utterly incredible releases over the last few weeks, padding out what was already a stacked lineup. Microsoft addresses the potential of original Xbox games making their way to the Xbox One via its backward compatibility program, saying “nothing’s impossible”. During a recent episode of The Inner Circle Podcast, Xbox engineering boss Mike Ybarra was asked if original Xbox games would eventually be playable on the Xbox One by way of backward compatibility, to which the executive responded by saying that the concept is still on the table....

One complaint many have had with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is its weapon unlock scheme which pits you into playing a wealth of multiplayer games in order to nab yourself a shovel or a crossbow. Luckily, Treyarch listened to the plights of fans: now, you can unlock those new weapons in Zombies. This update is coming hot off the press in the third season. Treyarch Studios teased what these unlocks will look like with a picture of the crossbow’s challenge, “Using a special weapon that has been Pack-a-Punched at least twice, kill 50 Special enemies....

Nintendo has had some failures in the past when it came to consoles and peripherals, but none are more infamous than the Virtual Boy. Bulky and uncomfortable to use, it failed to perform well due to its tendency to give players headaches, as well as not having many games developed for it. However, one innovative Youtuber, Shank Mods, has recreated the unique Nintendo experience in handheld form - and most importantly, he also made it headache-free....
