After experiencing some issues last night, Xbox Live is once again down for many gamers. According to Xbox, its “Core Services” are unavailable, meaning gamers are unable to log into their accounts via their console or Xbox.com. Today’s widespread problems began a few hours ago after recovering from yesterday’s limited issues that were affecting purchased games. Of the current situation, Xbox has offered a response via the Xbox Live Service Status Page as well as Twitter....

UPDATE 1/30: Xbox Support has yet to send a message declaring the issues resolved at the time of this writing, but in our own testing and social media posts, it seems Xbox Live is back up. If players are still experiencing the black screen issue, they should try turning their console off and switching it back on. The Xbox Series X will be much cheaper than the PS5, suggests one notorious video game analyst. There have been reports that the PS5 will be more expensive because of its components, though this has not been officially confirmed. Speaking to Summer Game Fest creator and The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley in a Periscope stream on Friday, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter said that the Xbox Series X could be $100 cheaper than the PS5....

After announcing the Xbox Series S yesterday, Microsoft followed that up by revealing the release date and price for the Xbox Series X. In the wake of that announcement, several next-gen games have been confirmed as launch titles for the console, with the latest being Dirt 5. The Yakuza series has been around since 2005 and has featured a ton of fantastic characters. Originally, Kiryu was the only star of the show up until Yakuza 4, where multiple playable protagonists were introduced. This offered many unique fighting styles and gameplay mechanics that were unable to be explored if Kiryu remained the only protagonist. All featured characters are fantastic in their own rights, and the Yakuza series has consistently been able to make some of the most likeable protagonists in any video game....

In a shocking bit of news, Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi has stepped down as CCO of Sega. In a press release from the company this morning, it revealed that the legendary creator will still be working as a creative director for the company, but will be abdicating his more business-related duties effect April 1, 2021. This all comes as part of some wider structural changes for Sega that it will be making throughout the year....
