The day many Destiny 2 fans have been waiting for has finally arrived as the Forsaken expansion once again opens The Reef area for players. World of Warcraft’s fan-made legacy server Nostalrius may be back from the dead, but Blizzard’s reaction to the news of the resurrection remains to be seen. After about a month since the first rumors surfaced, it seems that Nostalrius, a World of Warcraft server that allows players to experience the game in its original 2004 state, will soon be up and running again. Developer Blizzard forced the closure of the Nostalrius server earlier this year with a cease-and-desist order that sparked a petition signed by over 90,000 players and a mournful march through the realms of Azeroth....

The zombie universe is now totally united as players across PlayStation, Xbox and PC can finally play with each other following World War Z’s newest update. The update also introduces a new class and weapon. Cross-platform gaming has been a highly anticipated feature in all games for many years now. In the previous generation of consoles the selection of either PlayStation, Xbox or PC meant more than just exclusive titles or hardware capability, it meant limiting one’s self to play with only those with similar taste in hardware....

WWE 2K Battlegrounds, which was first announced in April as a replacement for the canceled WWE 2K21, was given a release date earlier today. Not only that, but details regarding the game’s single-player campaign have been shared, confirming that it will feature a story. In an interview, executive producer Sean O’Connor provided the general concept behind the campaign mode. It sees WWE agent Paul Heyman searching for a new WWE Superstar, with assistance from Stone Cold Steve Austin, who was also one of the first characters confirmed for WWE 2K Battlegrounds....

Stephen Rowe, better known as “smrnov,” has just become the first player in the world to hit 2.5 million Gamerscore on Xbox, a feat that took over 15 years to achieve. On August 28, 7:15pm EST, Xbox player smrnov unlocked the “The Tourist” achievement in Concept Destruction, an achievement which would push smrnov’s Gamerscore past the incredibly impressive milestone of 2.5 million, a number matched by no one. His first achievement dates back to December 12 2005, meaning this grind took nearly 15 full years of grinding and dedication to the art of achievement hunting....

There’s a way to play DOOM Eternal using a 360 degree motion controller so you can make the experience that much cooler. The answer lies with the so-called Arkade Motion Blaster, which is a motion controller “designed by shooter fans for shooter fans.” The former shooter fans in question are the folks at Arkade, who have designed the Motion Blaster to look like and be handled like a gun, so that you can play shooter games in a point-and-shoot manner more faithful to the in-game actions....

Last week, we found out that Halo Infinite’s multiplayer would be free for all players. Just like with Activision and Warzone, Microsoft must have figured that making the multiplayer component of their game free-to-play would be a great way to get a huge playerbase right away, and a great way to get a ton of microtransaction fees. But there’s no such thing as free multiplayer on Xbox–you have to pay for an Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play anything online, just the same as you need to pay for PlayStation Plus or Nintendo Switch Online....

Originally released in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was very quickly lauded as a revolution in the video game industry. Beyond packaging 3D gaming in a cohesive package that was not only gripping, but filled with clear artistic merit, Ocarina of Time’s game design was simply refined to a perfection. The core game is so strong, OoT could release today and still meet similar reception. The fact of the matter is that good game design doesn’t age, and Ocarina of Time is one of the best designed games of all time....

It’s no secret that Nintendo’s Wii U was a flop, with the console only selling a total of 13.5 million units in its entire lifespan. But the Switch has more than made up for its shortcomings, by becoming one of the Japanese gaming company’s best selling systems and fastest selling game console of all time. At the time of writing, the Switch has sold over 68 million units, officially surpassing the original Nintendo Entertainment System and solidifying itself as the second best-selling Nintendo home console, just trailing behind the Wii....
