When it comes to the FPS genre, 2017 is all about franchises returning to their roots. Call of Duty is stepping back in time, Star Wars Battlefront has single-player content again, and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus goes the whole hog with a playable version of Wolfenstein 3D. However, this isn’t the exact same experience you might remember from 1992. The classic FPS has been reimagined for its inclusion in The New Colossus – this time around, you’re not fighting off the Nazis, you’re fighting alongside them....

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has found her new project, and it looks like it’ll be something special. Through a short video on Twitter, Jenkins just announced that she’s working on a Star Wars film familiarly titled Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. Jenkins posted the video in the midst of Disney announcing a practical deluge of new Star Wars content including shows and movies. The video sees Jenkins herself rollerblading across some tarmac before giving a monologue about her father and her passion for stories about fighter pilots....

World of Tanks is teaming up with G.I. Joe for a unique crossover in the online battle tank sim. Cobra Commander and Duke will clash yet again, but in a way perhaps unlike they have before. Wargaming Minsk’s World of Tanks has found a lot of success since launching over 10 years ago in 2010. The game continues to be supported as well, as last fall World of Tanks worked with Silent Hill on a Halloween update....

Here is the funny thing about exponents: once they begin, there really is no end. This thought occurred to me the other night on Sedagive, my Death Knight. Her health is now up to some 175,000, while Eyegöre, my warrior who is sitting at level 70, has only 12,600 health. Only 15 levels apart and that drastic of a difference in health. Thus the power of exponents. With Blizzard slated to add content expansions every year or so, there really is no possible end in sight for the health and item levels coming....

WRC 9 is headed to the Nintendo Switch, and its release is less than two weeks away. WRC 9 has already been released on other platforms, such as the PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. However, the Switch version was trailing behind though that won’t be the case for much longer. WRC 9 is an off-road simulation rally racing game which originally debuted back in 2001....

UPDATE: According to the Xbox Support Twitter page, the Xbox Live issues from earlier today have been resolved. Original story follows. Around 10am CST on February 1, Xbox Live went down for some users for the second time in a week. The issues being reported include inability to sign in to profiles or access digitally-owned content. Microsoft says its Xbox Support team is aware of the issues and working to fix it....
