It’s been quite some time since we last heard about Windjammers 2. Already in a solid-state at last year’s PAX East, the latest trailer shows off a more confident game than what I’ve previously played. DotEmu has revealed that series veteran Steve Miller (not that one) will be on the roster and he’s coming alongside a more in-depth arcade mode. I’d hesitate to call this a proper campaign still, but arcade mode will feature an overworld map where players will have some choices between which opponent to face next....

As a wrestling game, WWE 2K20 incorporates victory via pinfall or submission. In any combat sport, winning via submission requires the competitor to hold his opponent in a lock where he either taps out or breaks crucial bones due to foolhardy persistence. Tap out, he loses the match to fight another day. Otherwise, his limbs would be overextended beyond repair, shortening his wrestling career. After Sony announced that Spider-Man would be exclusive to the PS4 version of Marvel’s Avengers, many started to speculate that we’d see similar things happen with the remaining versions. Sadly, it seems Sony’s quest to have the best possible version means that the other two-thirds will remain pointless. In an interview with Screen Rant, developer Crystal Dynamics confirmed that the Xbox One and PC ports of Avengers will not have exclusive characters or costumes....

Morkredd is an upcoming co-op puzzler from Aspyr and Hyper Games, slated to launch this December. It’s meant to be played as a duo, although solo players can take control of two characters at once if they can’t find a co-op partner. Morkredd is listed as a console exclusive, but it’s going to be available on quite a few systems – Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and even Steam will all have a playable version of the game....

Video game stories are often dismissed as inherently lesser to the narratives found in literature or cinema, but this is a notion that sells the medium short and ignores the host of talented writers that have been giving the industry depth for decades.
