The Batman trailer arrived at DC FanDome and it was unexpectedly set to an iconic Generation X song. No, you silly goose, we’re not talking about Billy Idol’s old band, we mean, you know, ’90s kids. The eerie and somber trailer was set to the equally eerie and somber strains of Nirvana’s “Something in the Way,” the closing track off (well, if you don’t count the hidden track of the feedback noise exploration “Endless Nameless”) the band’s breakthrough album Nevermind....

While Ash Ketchum has certainly proven himself worthy of being called one of the best battlers in his version of the Pokemon universe, fans that are more familiar with the games have questioned his ability to battle. Battling in the games and in the anime follow two totally different trains of logic, as the former is much more quantitative and objective while the latter is much more affected by intangibles. This is particularly true with movesets, as Ash has been making do with moves that would be considered subpar in the games....

Open-world survivor title Days Gone finally overcame its delays and released recently to a rather mixed response. While we found the game well-made and enjoyable as noted in our Days Gone review, others weren’t particularly impressed due to its lack of innovation and one-note story and characters. However, at one point, developer SIE Bend Studio had planned to include a choice system where, at certain points in the story, players could determine Deacon’s actions, which would have most likely had consequences on the flow of the narrative and his relationships with other characters....

At this point, some younger gaming fans may not even remember what G4TV is today, or at the very least never watched it. Back in 2004, G4 was an ambitious television network created by a partnership between NBC Universal and Dish Network. While other networks had similar tech-focused shows, there had never been a television network designed and oriented to the audience of video game fans. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch has already made some major changes to the game’s Blackout battle royale mode following the recent beta, such as adjusting body armor as a result of fan feedback. But it’s not just body armor and player counts that are subject to change in the run-up to release as the inclusion of custom games is also up in the air. In a recent interview with Game Informer, Treyarch’s studio design director, David Vonderhaar, played it coy when asked about custom games....

As of today, Anthem is BioWare’s worst reviewed game on Metacritic. This is bad news for BioWare. Their latest and greatest game to date, Anthem, has debuted to some pretty lackluster review scores. Metacritic reports a 60 aggregate score based on 52 reviews, which is the worst score of any BioWare game to date. The next worst BioWare game, Mass Effect: Andromeda, scored a 72. Most of the review scores are in the mid-to-low 60s, with one 80 and several 40s bringing the overall score to 60....

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has now been available for a few weeks depending on which region you reside in, and players have been eagerly casting spells in their quest to capture every Foundable in the world. One achievement in the game calls for players to cast a total of 20 unique spells, but currently, there appear to only be 13 in the game, so where to the rest come from?...

In an Twitter question and answer session, Xbox boss Phil Spencer made clear that first-party development was “critical” going forward. While the Q&A was largely positive, many of the questions betrayed an amount of worry and nervousness, but also excitement, regarding Microsoft’s Project Scorpio and its in-development first-party titles. Xbox Game Pass had an incredible 2020, and it shows no signs of slowing down in 2021. Xbox today released a long list of all the titles we can expect to see added to the service next year – including Halo Infinite, Pyschonauts 2, and Skatebird – and mentioned that more “surprises” will be revealed during The Game Awards on December 10. Before showing off the list of high-profile 2021 Game Pass titles, Xbox first discussed the program’s success in 2020....

In Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Drink Links are an important feature for raising your Bond level with your companions, as each time one of the characters has a full Bond gauge, performing a Drink Link will increase their level cap. You can trigger Drink Links in Survive Bar by speaking to any companion with the Bond logo above their head. This will then trigger a conversation between the two of you where you will have to choose different answers, and depending on your choice, your answer will give you different personality stat increases....

Zynga is working with NaturalMotion to create a game that lets you play seamlessly across mobile, PC, and console.
