Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: in light of recent gamer reaction Microsoft has decided to reverse its policy on a much-maligned and borderline intrusive feature for the Xbox One. They did it with used games and Internet connectivity, and now, as we have just learned, they are doing it with Kinect. The Witcher 3 is jam-packed with morally ambiguous characters both on the protagonist and antagonist side. The battle for game streaming supremacy just got a bit messer today. In an update on its official website, Nvidia has announced that Xbox Game Studios titles will be removed from GeForce Now (its streaming service) on April 24, 2020. Along with that major publisher, titles from Warner Bros., Codemasters, and Klei Entertainment will also be getting the ax. Microsoft didn’t have massive support for the service as it is currently beta testing its own solution in Project xCloud, but it still doesn’t paint the best picture for GeForce Now....

Every month, Xbox users who have an active Xbox Live subscription get treated with a few free games. These releases are usually staggered across the month, as many who picked up November’s Games with Gold may note. For example, Battlefield 1 has been available since November 1, Race the Sun has been available since November 16, Assassin’s Creed was available until November 15, and Dante’s Inferno is available until the end of November....

The Xbox One X is no longer being manufactured by Microsoft, according to a new report, leaving just the Xbox One S in production. As the Xbox Series X ramps up, Microsoft is shifting focus to the new console. This means that factories that used to produce Xbox Ones are now building Xbox Series Xs, which means websites are taking down the discontinued models. GamesIndustry.biz reports that the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital consoles are both discontinued and will no longer be produced....

During a closed-doors presentation, Microsoft revealed that players should expect next-gen game sizes to be about 30% smaller on the Xbox Series S than on the Series X. This means that game downloads won’t be quite as big if you’re using the Series X’s more compact sibling. “With a performance target of 1440p at 60 fps, our expectation is that developers will not ship their highest level mipmaps to Xbox Series S, which will reduce the size of the games,” Xbox director of program management Jason Ronald told IGN....

Xbox has confirmed the existence of its smaller Series S as well as how much it will cost - $299. Sony and Microsoft have been drip-feeding the gaming world information about its next-gen consoles throughout the bulk of 2020.
